Add a free product to a new customer's first Shopify order

This template will:

  • Begin after your customer completes their checkout. Once the order is created, MESA will check to determine if it's the customer's first order then will add a free product to the order for fulfillment. 

🔧 Simple setup is needed:
➕ Select your free product
✅ Save and enable your workflow to start automating!


Follow the steps below on how to set up this workflow.

Step 1

In the Shopify Order Line Item Add step, select the Product and Variant that should be added as the free product to orders. 

Select "Default Title" on the Product Variant to Add field if the product only has 1 variant.

Step 2

If you cannot locate the product or variant, you can select Enter custom product ID or Enter custom variant ID and use the product ID and variant ID instead.

Step 3

Hit the Done button at the top or bottom of the Step Configuration section.

Step 4

At the top of or below the workflow, click the Save button to save your changes.

Step 5

Click the toggle to switch the workflow On when you are ready to start automating.


Optional Customizations

Adjust the Note added to the order (or do not add a note at all) by changing the Staff Note field in the Shopify Order Line Item Add step.
