Add Customer Tags in Mantle from Tally Form Submissions
When someone fills out your Tally form, this workflow locates the corresponding customer record in Mantle and then creates a customer tag. Perfect for organizing leads from surveys, contact forms, or registration pages. Set up once and let new form responses become tagged customers in your system without manual data entry. Note that it is required for your Tally form to collect an email address, which will be used to locate the corresponding record in Mantle.

Follow the steps below to set up this workflow.
Step 1
In the Tally Form Submitted trigger, connect with Tally.
To establish your connection, log in to your Tally account and then navigate to Settings. Then, click API keys.
Click the Create API key button and enter MESA for the API key name, then click Create.
Once your API key is generated, copy it and paste it into the API Key field in the Tally step of your MESA workflow. Then, click Add connection to complete the process.
Step 2
In the Form ID field of the Tally Form Submitted trigger, select your Tally form from the drop-down or enter the Form ID for MESA to monitor.
To find the Form ID, open your Tally form and check the URL — the ID is the code at the end. Example: https://tally.so/r/abc123XYZ → Form ID: abc123XYZ.
Then click Save.
Step 3
Expand the Manual r un section within the trigger and select a record. Then, click Run Step to pull data from your form.
If no records are available, turn on your workflow and submit the form once. That submission will create a record you can use for testing.
Step 4
In the Mantle Get List of Customers step, locate the Search field.


Click the Insert Variable icon on the right and select the correct value for the Email field.



Step 5
Locate the App ID field and select the app this customer should be associated with.
Step 6
In the Mantle Add Customer Tags step, locate the Tags field.
Type in a tag you would like to add to the customer.
Step 7
Click Save.
Step 8
At the top or bottom of the page, switch the workflow from Off to On to start automating.
